The purpose of this section of the final project is to complete a business plan including timelines that will be presented to the Board of Directors in the final presentation of your telehealth program proposal.

Research the components of a business plan. In addition to the general requirements, you need to consider a change management plan. During any implementation of a new or different program, there will be shifting of team roles, added responsibilities, and paradigm shifts that are necessary to be successful. It takes leadership and planned implementation to manage such changes. In your business plan you will need to create a plan for managing the implementation of your telehealth program. You will anticipate the resistance that your team, the community, and patients may pose and how you can lead the team through these resistances. You will also develop an evaluation strategy to show your successes (including verification of meeting clinical standards) and indicate where change is necessary.

Detailed Requirements:

Your business plan should include the following components:

• Executive Summary:
  • A summary of the healthcare needs assessment for the indicated population (you may include your infographic here).
• Company Description:
  • Type of facility in which this program will be administered.
• Products and Services:
  • A summary of the telehealth product/program that will be used to address the healthcare needs.
  • Research showing clinical effectiveness of the telehealth program (look back to Module 1 work).
• Market analysis:
  • Are there other similar programs in the area?
  • How many patients could this program serve?
• Strategy and Implementation:
  • Key performance metrics (e.g., patient satisfaction, utilization, costs)
  • Methodology to capture metrics
• Organization and Management Team:
  • Change management plan
  • Team roles
• Financial plan and projections:
  • Projected reimbursement plan

This business plan will be part of the packet you give to the Board of Director’s to propose your program. It should be approximately 3-5 pages in length.
