Question Description
I’m working on a nursing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Many facilities face a variety of clinical problems and issues. Some issues may be minor however some can be more severe, having an impact on patient care and even patient outcomes. My practicum happens to be taking place in my current place of employment. In our organization we lack adequate staff and clinical positions which is an issue that even the patients notice. Safe and effective patient care depends on the teamwork of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals Zajac, et al, 2021) however there are not enough clinical positions to accommodate the demands of the facility and too much responsibly is placed on just one person. For example, we have clinical leaders who handle matters at the administrative level then they have their subordinates but there is no middleman leaving extra work to fall on the clinical lead affecting other departments. According to Forstein (2022) this extra burden is described as moral injury. Among the nursing department there is a chief nursing office (CNO) then it jumps all the way down to a nurse manager and then nurse supervisor.
