Here are the list of topics that you can write about in FTA #3. Please choose two (one from each group). As mentioned in the Description for these assignments, there is no fixed length requirement, but your document will be judged, among other things, for completeness; include as much as necessary to teach your subjects. You can use whatever document-preparation system you want, but please export your document as a PDF for submission here (only PDFs will be accepted for upload).

Topics, Group 1:

• Comparison of Declarative and Stateful: pros and cons of each model, including differences in the reasoning necessary, with examples to illustrate each point
• Abstract Data Types and program organization: pros and cons of different approaches, patterns for breaking large programs into components
• Case Studies: Explain the Case Studies in Section 6.8 (in your own way)
• Exercises in State: Of the Exercises in Section 6.10, Solve #1 and at least 3 of the other ones, with explanations.

• Active Objects: Ports (Sections 5.1 and 5.2), active-object abstractions, Josephus Problem, event managers (all from Section 7.8)
