Two strategies for addressing public health issues using networking

Identification of at least one professional organization in your field of study that posts on social media sites and an explanation of why following the organization might be beneficial

• By Day 6 of Week 8
• Respond to at least two peers’ initial posts regarding the use of professional networking. Provide a substantive reply in one or more of the following ways: 
• Share a professional organization that a peer did not share.

Offer an additional benefit of following the organization that your peer mentioned in his or her post.

Offer another method of networking in the public health field.

By Day 7 of Week 8, be sure to review the responses to your initial post and follow up on your responses to your peers’ posts.

• By Day 4 of Week 9
• Write a post in which you reflect on what you have learned about your peers through the “interview process.” Your post should address the following:
• Identify at least two members of your peer group who are similar to you in field, interests, goals, strengths, and/or weaknesses. Explain how you and each peer can support each other through networking.

Identify at least two member of your peer group who are different from you in field, interests, goals, strengths, and/or weaknesses. Explain how you and each peer can support each other through networking.

Explain why peer networking is important.

Describe how common and diverse networks can be beneficial for addressing public health issues.
