The CRA model is used to help students with math instruction that could possibly enhance in class performance. Effective teachers know from research that the most successful strategies for aiding students in reaching specific cognitive, social, and critical thinking goals are strategies that place learning in the hands and minds of learners. The CRA model supports the development of deep conceptual understanding because it makes the students work for the answer. We had it the easy way just type it in a calculator and get the answer. Even though they can still do the same today it is no longer accepted that way. Its not what the answer is but more so of how you got the answer. It teaches them to think outside the box and find more than one way in some cases on how to solve a problem. It also makes them challenge their selves as well as others because there are multiple ways to answer each question. I believe this model of instruction is very beneficial to the students because of the way it challenges them mentally. It is also easy to help the students by presenting things they are familiar with as it gives them the chance to mathmetize the problem or relate some of it to the real world in order to solve the problem. All students learn differently. When becoming an educator that is something we first have to understand. We have to be prepared to off the same information in different ways in order for all of our students to be successful.
